This year I have managed to dent and scrape the exhaust more than ever.
I've managed to put big dents in the hockey sticks and more worryingly bashed the silencer box and even the tail pipes so they don't even sit level.
The exhaust position is one of the top 5 design flaws on these cars and other than raise the car or drive more carefully I'm stuck for ideas to help.
Would it be worth adding to the chassis, maybe a couple of rails to protect it?

Hi
I used a piece of 15mm ally plate supported from the chassis. It hangs down just below the exhausts and runs at 45 deg to the chassis

it's a form of 'sump guard' but for the exhaust

Hi Mick
It also protects the dry sump pump as well, stuck down the left side.

In my 6 years of S2 ownership driving on our terrible roads I can't say my exhaust ever bottomed out, I removed the complete system a few Months ago to remove the propshaft and was surprised to see it was dent free.
My suspension was old so could of been original and the new tyres were the correct profile so probably sat near to the original ride hight.
