Spare dashboard??

Does anyboby have a spare V8S dashboard please?

I am only after one to act as a tenmplate because a friend has offered to try and make a hardwood version which I can replace mine with one day? As he is retired and it is his hobby he may well consider making the occasional one if he gets on OK with the first.

Or maybe there is a template out there soemwhere?

I thought about doing this a few years ago but, as you'll find when you get yours off, it curves. The original one also has a number of studs welded to the back for mounting it to the glass fibre dash moulding and to support the plate in which the tacho & speedo are mounted. So, making one out a solid piece of timber will be very difficult. It would be possible to laminate a wood dash to get the curve but then you still have the hidden studs problem. Anyway, that was my experience but good luck with your efforts.

Well, could kill two birds with three stones here. Could we do the 7/1 meeting at my friend's pub at Frisby near Melton?

I'm looking to do a coupkle of runs out from there, one in March for a small number of classics (this was last nights idea, appear to have 2 Minis, a Morris Minor, TVR and a D Type..) and then a TVR one in April, we have a number os S near me like Andy, Jez and Alan...

Dave, Gozzy mentioned to me earlier this week that he'd prefer a venue north of Uppingham on 7th so unless Frisby has moved that sounds perfect to me. Only problem is that if Dale is bringing a spare dash with him I'll not be getting a ride in our his Tamora...

Its a dash not a sideboard I think it will fit in the Tam
I bought it to make a nice new dash and then swap with mine ,never got round to it, thought I would hang on to it as one day hope to get another S .
