anyone fitted these? if so could you upload photos.

I've had a go and can't get it right.

Either too vertical they are aggressive and hold the lid up on one side and away from the seal, or too horizontal and pulls the lid closed.

May just leave as original with the boot lock spring when unlocked allows fingers to just access the underside and then lift to the fully open. (does the same with the electric boot open button as well as the manual cable)

Hi Mick
Had a go at it with the Gimson Robotics - Linear Actuator and Electric Motors,
Still looking at it but nothing working as of now. Will look at it new year when body fully on.

I didn't fit mine but took some pictures whilst I was in the garage today.

A bolt goes through that empty hole which goes into the latch, I've took it off whilst the battery is off so I can get in the boot.

Hi Mick,
Been looking at bonnet struts recently and I believe they are the same for the S boot (Capri) but according to the Wedge boys they are too strong for the grp and need some gas letting out to be just right.
Thanks Bobhon for getting me started on this, I was a bit lostconfused

These things are usually sealed and have no means of adjustment. The boot lid is very light so just buy a "softer" one; loads available on Ebay.

Or just buy the right onewink

Struts for a "wide open" bonnet conversion will need to be far "stronger". with standard hinges the bonnet is sort of counter balanced, when you move the hinges forward it becomes incredibly heavy!

I used my old Taimar tailgate struts (with that big window it's heavy) which had lost a bit of "oomph" and were struggling to hold the tailgate open. Pressing the old ones against a set of bathroom scales I roughly calculated the Nm force left in them, added a bit on and ordered SGS part no. GS8-18-210-270 to replace them smile

<Apologies for hijack>
Was this for the Taimar replacement, the wide open bonnet strut or both?
Yes the bonnet could do with stronger ones but would like to keep the centres of the Capri strut, I'll see if they do a heavy duty one. The Wedge can have its struts back thensmile
It's alleged SGD do adjustable ones from Wedge post

Part No. I've quoted was for the Taimar replacements, the old Taimar struts went on the wide open bonnet conversion and I'm non too sure where Capri struts fit into the equation!

Adjustable struts are availablesmile
