Could someone who has one of these on their 'S' post up a picture of the header rail (front & back) and a shot showing how the side of the roof fabric mates with the door window. Many thanks in advance. thumbup

Thanks for the offer Mick but I'm in the process of making a header rail by building up layers of plywood. This will either be the header rail itself or make a mould for a glass fibre one. The problem I now need to solve is how to make roof fabric seal to the windows. I still need the moulding which hods the roof to the rear tub if anyone has one surplus to requirements. Thanks again for the offer.

...I still say "it can't be done!!!!"....good luck Jo....but if you don't put your roof up you don't need a solution

...but your saga is worth my licence fee alone......hmmmm, when you finish I think an article is in order...

Are you looking to keep them as spares? If not PM me please. I need to see how the edges of the Surrey Top seal against the side windows so I can have a think about how to make the hood.

I don't suppose you have the moulding which holds the rear section of the hood to the tub? Cheers! beer

Sorry it took so long Joe.

When parked I leave the flaps out. When getting in and out etc... I have them in.

No problem! As you can see from my other thread, I've been busy laugh The pictures are realy helpful, thank you. Can you tell me (i) what holds the flaps/seams over the tops of the windows in place; is or just the tension on the hood when it's in place? & (ii) how effective are they at keeping the rain out when on the move?

Thanks again thumbup

The flaps sit over the top of the window. No issues with opening the door with flap in or out. On the move with the flaps in there's more noise and water can get in as there is a gap between the glass and the flap.

With the flap out there's less noise and water ingress is minimal.

Closing the door does mean lifting the flap over it before a final short clunk to close the door.

Brilliant! Thanks again. Looks like I'm trying to over-engineer this aspect of it.

Sorry; another question. Is there a bit of piping inside the outer seam? Thanks.

Inside the upper outer edge (above the flap), yes. Thin nylon tube I think.
