Han - we have got to do that!!. I just hope there isn't some stupid 10mph speed limit through them.

Tunnels & wigglies - San Boldo Pass, Italy, in the Southern Alps to the north of Venice.

Speed limit 30kph, 19mph frown

Mostly quick short bursts in 1st gear then?

But will you be repeating that after the first day? Because you are normally with the GTS you probably haven't seen him drive... hehe

What about the Col du Chaussy as an alternative which looks similar but without the tunnels? It's the first of four climbs on the 2015 l'Etape du Tour yikes but it's only 88 miles this year though... wink

Longers,

Firstly, I have had the pleasure of many laps of Oulton in the passenger seat of my son's Scooby, and relished every moment. He is not a sluggish driver, even though he has just fitted an enormous two-tier rack on the back end, presumably for his shopping. confused
He did get a bit of a bocensoredking for going on Dr. Jonathan Palmer's grass a bit when he went into Lodge a bit hot, but hey, they use that bit an awful lot during races. If they don't, they aren't really trying are they?

Secondly, each year when I go on holiday to Turkey, I really enjoy the tandem paragliding from the 2000 metre high summit of Mt. Babadag, and the tight spiral turns ( 4G or more ) and landing on the beach at Olu Deniz. cloud9

Thirdly, I am one of the Expendables, so there's no need for anyone to worry. wink

Ovomaltine/Redweld ( to stop the leaks ) is the opiate of the GTS massif.
I fancy Toro Rosso for a change ( again ) evil

I trust that all concerned are suitably reassured, or failing that, lulled into a false sense of security.

Just to whet the appetite:

Charade 1958 - 1ère course: http://youtu.be/pvIDfqP8pIU

Charade 1959 - Stirling Moss: http://youtu.be/ykm-j6y0c

We will be following in some famous footsteps, but more safely.

2nd link didn't work for me either, but it was listed in the margin on the RH side of the first link ( suggested other vids ).

Cool!
I'm sure I saw a young slim Jean-Marie Balestre among the ranks of the esteemed spectators.
The Charade circuit was awesome, we need more like that in our mundane modern world.

It's alright Pete, just follow Max.

The video has really got the juices flowing but it is all in French, it's OK if you are a complete Francophile like Joe.

yes Although "a bit" harder cycling up that section, I think coming down there on a bike would be pretty terrifying!

There's some more info on the 2015 Etape route here if you're interested.

Is that film from the family archive Tony ?

Was your grandfather an itinerant French racing driver ?

I expect to see you in a beret very soon !
