Bocensoredcks! It's just woodwork and a bit of measuring and drilling. Until three weeks ago I'd never done any glass fibre work. All well within your capabilities thumbup

Can never be too shiny, Looking really good. A bit of good quality car body wax will really add the sparkle but try it on a little unseen area first to make sure the wax in it is compatible with the varnish as I have come across some with a low level of solvent in them - used to use this in the vintage boat decking business in a former life. It adds a UV protective layer too but you won't be able to add more varnish without a fine wet'n'dry.

Deeman that really is looking good.

Do you mind me asking what lacquer/polish/varnish you are using? Is it a two part catalyst type or just air drying? It seems to be building up and filling the grain nicely. Top job thumbup
Hi TVR - Stu. No rocket science here. A tin of Rustins Yacht varnish, thinned back 30%. Air dried. Lots of patience and care. That's it.
Even more impressed, that's an excellent result for yacht varnish!

I must say that does look very nice Deeman.

Sadly, my attempts are going to postponed a bit until I have finished the leather and carpets on my car, but I'll put some pictures up of the home-hydrodip when it eventually happens; however it turns out!

As the roads are slippery and salty at the moment I think it's time to grasp the nettle and remove the dash. Any updates on the various finishes discussed here? Kev.
