I've got the car up on stands to have another look at leak from gearbox which I had through euro-tour. Whilst its always hard to trace leaks, it does look (even though I tightened very well) that its a seep from either the gearbox sump plug or filler plug. Does the filler plug need PTFE or equivalent wrapped round thread? Does the gearbox sump plug need a special washer? (like this http://tvr-parts.com/tvr-parts/part-details/tvr-03... ) I do appreciate this is a pretty elementary question, but I know how peculiar these cars are....... Any advice welcomed, just so I can rule things out, before getting gearbox removal ideas!

I'd say that if the plug has any sort of "shoulder" it should have a copper sealing washer or a Dowty seal.

If it is just a "thread" you could wrap with a few turns of PTFE tape.
