Thant's a neat mod. How did you attach it to the screen? Looking at some examples on Ebay it looks like the clip on the mirror bracket is very similar to the original one (which is Peugeot). How did you hide the wiring?

Screen fitting is as per freelander about £2.50 from local main dealer wiring tucked away but would be better under the trim.

Do we think Glen should fit one of these to add a bit of class to the 'loo' in Austin?cool

scratchchin "This is a used part, it may have some dirt marks etc."

Quite appropriate Richard. biggrin Thanks for that. However, after Austin's little fish & chip run, most of the dirt is on the outside.

FILTHY BOY AUSTIN!

ETA: The only clean bit is the roof!

Is that £2.50 for the mounting block or the mirror? I see a rush for them!

I am sure you guessed it's just the alloy mounting block. I needed to buy my own glue frown

I think some of the later mirrors are also auto dimming but not mine.

Solution! This is a Jaguar interior light...

It is 130mm x 35mm. It does sit a bit higher than I wanted but it does have a concealed on/off switch. You just press the right hand section.

I'll now make a moulding to mount it to the vertical face of the hood rail and run the wires underneath this moulding and to the existing loom connection.

I could do with a 3-pin connector for the light if anyone has one but I expect that's a bit unlikely.

Two MG TF mirrors turned up today complete with mounting blocks. Will look at the wiring in both Samy and Tamy this weekend.

I've got the heater module in Tamy to rewire first.

Here's a moulding to mount the Jaguar light.......

The plan is to mount this on the vertical face of the roof rail so when it's blended in and trimmed it looks like the light sits in a small bulge in the rail.

Actually, looking again at the photo I've just had a flash-back to the market in Germany last year and realise where I got the idea idea from
