I'm looking fr a new interior light. Something like this but with an on/off switch and ideally lower profile.

Any suggestions?

Bloody ....., I think he wanted an interior light not the a whole car!

I have got one of those CBS LED interior lights. I have decided to use it to illuminate 'her' footwell off the door switch. I am also looking for a good replacement, but with a switch. But I do not need a solid Gold one from an old Ford.

Thanks for suggestion. The important factor is the depth of recess required. The new light is going to be fitted to the piece of trim which runs round the inside of the rear of the hood (& covers the top of the carpet). I don't want to have to cut a hole in the tub so whatever I go for has to be fairly slim-line.

All suggestions welcome. So ling a s they cost less than £150 laugh

Hi
No I don't, I know they are in a box but that's about it. at that price it's worth a go.

True, but they're sold now. I've just looked on Ebay for "sun visor light" and there's load to choose from so that was a great tip - thanks.

I went into Halfords during the week and asked "do you have any universal interior lights". To which the reply was "nah, you'll have to go to a main dealer for that" rofl They did in fact have some in the caravan section but far too big.

Just bought this. Yes I know it doesn't have a switch but if I can get it to work I'll buy this.

Hi Jo
Have been following your roof job with great interest you might want to consider an adjustable relay for the light something like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-H3Y-2-Delay-Timer-...

Just idea but I use them quite a lot and know they are pretty reliable.

Just google '14 pin 12v timer relay' for alternatives

Also it has multiple switching so you could easily add other lights to it if you want to eg for the foot wells etc

If you want any help wiring it just let me know, think I get around your part of the world occasionally as well!

One day I might actually get an S of my own to tinker with... Fingers crossed procuring a garage next week (and a house) to put one in !!

Hi Greg. Many thanks for the input and feel free to call in for a cuppa if you are in the area. Good luck with the garage house hunting.

Hi Joe,
When I saw your post last night, I felt an overwhelming urge to post a picture of a magnificent crystal Delboy & Rodders style chandelier.
But it was very late, I'd had a few, and I couldn't be arcensoreded.

For that I apologise.

An LED strip might be worth considering. Just need a switch.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did look at LED strips but I couldn't work out how to fit one into the hood retaining rail and make a neat job of it once it was trimmed. I've also now bought this which I'm hoping doesn't need a deep recess because it has a switch. If I can make this one fit I'll put the little one in the foot-well.

I was keeping this quiet until a public meet but will share in the spirit of the s series brotherhood ( and sisterhood).

I have fitted a MG TF rear view mirror with inbuilt lights.

Works well smile

Just a alternative.
