have got new shocks for my s2 from Avo, but had to seek advice on springs. the bible gives lb/in. front and rear but also states that big differences are to be found between different models and years of manufacture.Avo , after asking about the sizes of my old springs have recomended 300lb/in front and 250lb/in onthe rear.
In the meantime, on the alternative parts list, it shows that tvr gave recomendations for rear springs to stop exhaust bottoming out, and this was given in an article in sprint mag in `98.
can anyone shed some light on this, or even have info from sprint mag available?

Information was in Sprint PostBag, Page 77 Sprint May 1998.
Member explaining that he had grounding problems at rear of car on a S2, and goes on to quote
"The answer is what I should have done in the first place- I phoned TVR Engineering, who could not have been more helpful. The gentleman I spoke to whose name I cannot recall advised that the rear springs and dampers be changed for:
Springs (Yellow) S29D 10037
Dampers S29D 10053
Yes I did, and yes, it was a vast improvement! It was not a total cure as there is still the odd scrape, but after fitting the springs I went on a tour of Germany. Two people, luggage and on and off a ferry with no problems at all, only bottoming out 500 yards from home and at the same place on return, the rest of the trip was pure enjoyment"....
Hope that helps.

I have just ordered new shocks and springs for my S2 (AVO), went for 250lb. The old one's are knackered but I never had any problems with grounding under acceleration. 250lb with shocks adjusted correctly should give a good ride with good handling for the occational track use.

...but where would I find a supply for springs now....?
Rallydesign?just in case you or anyone else hasn't found this....... Suspension Wiki
450 seems a bit too much for the rear
I recently went to Joolz at Kits and Classics in Chesterfield for my Protech 600 kit.
He is not only a supplier but has been working on TVRs for years, is very well known in TVR circles and also previously owned a 5L V8S so knows what will suit the car and you.
He is also a very nice chap to talk to and helpful.
I recommend giving him a call. If he doesn't answer straight away don't worry just try again he is a very busy chap.
Cheers,
Carl.
p.s. I went for 425lb front and 375lb rear with the new Protechs.
