My heater fan stopped working last week (perfect time for it) and some investigation has revealed that the connector on the back of the switch has melted and one of the pins has fallen out frown

Thanks to previous posts here and elsewhere I see that the switch itself is a lucas 182SA series, I can't see that specific switch with the fan logo on it use anywhere other than the S but the internals of it are tr7, wedge and various lotus headlight master switch (lucas 34224 or BL TKC5089) so that's not going to be too hard to fix if it's damaged, the terminals to go in the connector are 3mm lucas ones the same as most of the rest of the car but the plastic casing for the connector itself has me a bit stuck. Anyone know where to get one?

Do you need it? just ensure you push the connections onto the correct pins wink

Or, set the connectors in a lump of "SUGRU"

I don't need it, no. But I'd rather have it than not, especially since I don't think that lot unplugs anywhere else and access to make sure you're putting the pins in the right place is a bit rubbish. For now I've just stuck a pair of lucas pins on a spare switch and wrapped it all in lots of tape but long term I'd like to rip out the undocumented mess that TVR called a loom (a tad unfair, it's lasted 20 years after all and *most* of it works) and redo the lot of it perhaps even using the mysterious black arts of "putting relays on things that take lots of current" so switches don't melt and "waterproof connectors where there might be water". smile

V8S didn't use rotary switches.

Have you [op] tried Ebay?

I did look but didn't find what I'm after. Usually that means you're using the wrong words though.

I think the answer is going to be the local scrap yard and I reckon that connector is the same on the other similar switches used in a lot of 80s BL stuff so landrover is looking the most likely smile

These switches were used on later Scimitars,SE6 onwards.
You could try asking for what you want on the RSSOC forum.
