When I woke up this morning and looked out of the window of Glenrobbo Grange, I was amazed to find that the whole world had turned.....
....turned...er...well....FLUFFY!yikes

This can only be the result of catastrophic global warming, no doubt caused by those idiots in TVR S series cars with their powerful engines and noisy exhausts, driving 100's of topless miles on the flimsy pretext of: ( and I quote! ) "going for breakfast"
or "nipping down to Aldeburgh for some fish 'n' chips".

The very notion of this ridiculous and irresponsible behaviour makes my blood boil, which obviously exacerbates the problem.

I therefore feel compelled to write a stern letter to the Times and shall also lobby the office of my local Member of Parliament, IF I can find out who that person is, and where he or she is hiding.

I trust that you will all join me in condemning these people, who with scant regard for others, completely disregard the consequences of their actions on the environment, the atmosphere, the planet, and all those little furry creatures, in their own hedonistic pursuit of personal gratification.

I think you will all agree with me that it's scandalous!!

Ah, you mean the 'Water of Life' Pete. Nice. cloud9 But Scottish. Not many Glens around here.
You probably wouldn't like Stockport Glenwater anyway nono

But if it's actual water you want, you can go to Buxton and get it for free from the natural spring in the town, next to the Old Hall Hotel.
This natural spring is never cut off, unlike Buxton, which usually is at the first hint of this kind of weather.

As a side note it takes like 10 years + driving to come near manufacture co2 with emissions co2. Given the age of our cars and the local manufacture I consider the s or any classic pretty Eco friendly.

The gov gives us reasons to replace things we already own with new to fuel the infinite growth capitalist dogma in my opinion.

And don't get me started on mans influence on climate change 😁

I understand that cold weather is part of the austerity plan.

It cools down the peasants and makes them less likely to actually reach the local NHS facility to waste resources.

Did you know that one month's emissions from an Icelandic volcano is far in excess of all man-made emissions for the past 200 years?

And the electricity required to recharge the huge bank of non-biodegradable cadmium battery pack on an "eco-friendly" modern electric car every 40 miles is mostly generated by dirty stinking coal-fuelled power stations running at a far lower efficiency level than a 25+ year old 2.9 V6 TVR S?

When I get old I want a V8 mobility scooter.

Dont'cher wish your girlfriend was hot like me? Don'tcher?
Oh don'tcher???
yikes

Just sayin' wink

Most of us know its an excuse to bleed more tax out of us - especially when the data they based global warming on came from East Anglia University, and about 1 year later the professor admitted it was severely flawed. Oooh slight backtrack on the diesel thing too more recently!? Its all bks and laws created to keep the money flowing into government coffers, for a nice lunch on expenses or a posh new toilet seat or second residence...... Geological fact is, we are heading into the next ice age, so we need a few degrees more warmth while we can! laugh

But if you donate just £5 a month, you can adopt a cuddly fluffy snow leopard/ Siberian tiger/ polar bear stuffed toy animal and help us stop the icecaps melting and save their habitat from greedy politicians and industrialists and everything will be lovely.

Just £5 a month.......

That's less than the price of a Wellesbourne breakfast......

We were told that according to scientists "global warming" was a proven case (even though they've now changed the terminology to "climate change"). But I don't actually know anyone who believes them. And I even know people who don't drive TVR's.

I thought I was an environmentalist until I had the choice in 1991 of buying an S3 or an S3C, then I found I preferred the tiny performance advantage of the S3.

And now, 24 years later, the damn emissions test is one of the causes of my cars MoT failure. I'm going to have to let it go because it also need chassis work, but does anyone know what the remedial action is for an emission failure?

A Turin tune-up / a bloody good spanking.

Why are you letting these items drive a sale? Both are resolvable.

Well said Mike. That's why I stay friends with my local tvr specialist who does mots. Not least because of the 126 db the car is capable of coughing up!!

Well, it may be sacrilege to say this here, but I probably only did 125 miles in it over the last year so the expense of getting it through the MoT and taxing and insuring it (all due together) is not justifiable. Bearing in mind that I would be relying on a garage for all the work.

However, I'm now teetering back to keeping it tucked away in the garage in case I regret not having it. Also, it would be just my luck if the minute I got rid of it the market suddenly decides they are a classic and the value shoots up.

Brian, I'll be honest with you, I was starting to lose faith with my S3 last year. I keep spending on it to improve it, but each time I have my mechanic do a job, something else happens. The financial implications are painful but as I always tell my wife, I have to spend my money on something!
So, at the end of summer last year, I had several oil leaks sorted (as I had power washed my block paving, and the wife had banned me from parking on it). When I got the car back, a week later it wouldn't start.
I won't bore you with the details, but I have finally sorted it after stripping lots of the wiring down, and in the end, it was something fairly obvious!
I had left it tucked away in the garage for months as I couldn't be bothered working on it and just wanted it fixed so I could sell it and buy a BMW Z4 (trouble free open top fun, but without any excitement and unique factor!).
So, it seems to be fixed (for now) and I have realised that I just wouldn't be happy without it. I am already planning to get the roof and carpets done before summer, as they let the car down badly. The cost will be low compared to depreciation on a BMW.
Everyone's circumstances are different, but if necessary, leave it tucked away (SORN) then when you are ready to get it sorted, you may remember just how much you love it!

Z4 or curvy raucous TVR. Hmm....... Aggro I know, but disappear in a crowd or stand out in a crowd. Each drive I take makes me feel 17 years old, and the thrill of going out on the road just after passing the test!! I know BMW have a huge yuppie type following of those defined by a label, and some are unique enough to be interesting, but overall dullsville!! You made the right choice!!!!
