Anyone fitted a MT75 gearbox
Discussion
I don't think there is a version that will "drop straight in"?
Talking to a "Capri guy" a while back he was on about "hybrid box's", something along the line off you take a 4wd box from a V6 Scorpio and change the back end for bits from a 2wd box.
I'm sure a rummage around some Ford Forums will explain it all a lot better
Mick (magpies) has one in his.. T5 will fit with mustang bell housing.. I happen to have one spare following from my aborted BOA install.
Philpot is correct though mt75 hubrid is 2wd back of box and v6 front. You can't use the v6 back as its a 4x4.
I think a deisel 2wd has the longest 5th if that's important to you.
Thanks

the MT75 (hybrid) as above does fit and seems to work fine. I have shortened the tail bracket so the gear stick is in the same position as the Type9 with cranked stick. Also home made quick shift - both these mods are very easy. Also have to convert clutch to hydraulic (or fit cable peddle box)
I have a spare MT75 4x4 box for sale

Hi
I expect you have all you need by now, but if it helps, here is a picture of my MT75 alongside the T9 from my S3c.
Obviously, the prop shaft length and fitting is different, and on my boxes the clutch release is on the opposite side. Not much difference in the gear lever position, (I'm estimating about an inch, but have yet to fit it into a solid chassis! to check) but the remote linkage looks easy to cut and weld.
Hope this helps.

The remote linkage is easy to remake shorter - remember the T9 requires the stick to be cranked forward by about 2"I expect you have all you need by now, but if it helps, here is a picture of my MT75 alongside the T9 from my S3c.

Yes. Well reminded! I will seek out my T9 gear lever then fit both alongside each other to check the difference. Once the chassis is finished I will mock up the 24v with the box and also fit the body.
Mainly to check everything fits but also to drill body-fixing holes in the chassis plates before powder coating or painting.
Cheers again.

If I understand correctly,
It's lighter.
It's in more plentiful supply.
It's stronger.
It has 'taller' gearing which means slower acceleration but higher speed.
To be fair, I asked because I am now thinking of retaining the 2.9 V6 anchor as and when it needs rebuilding and would like to 'delete' the TVR gear linkage so just checking alternatives.
