Hi All
How close is your handbrake to the side of the tub, I can only just get my hand round it to pull it up. nothing has changed or is it just like that.

Mine used to disappear down the side of the centre console but when I put it back together after doing a partial body lift I must have got it back on a different spline or something because now it is like Han's, you can actually get hold of it!

They're all like that sir!

When I had the very first test drive in Austin, I really struggled to use the handbrake, but now after three and a half years, I'm starting to get used to it. I use my index finger to press the release button and contort my hand into a strange position to operate the lever. A bit like an alien spacecraft timewarp actuator control eh Joe? wink
Ideally you need two thumbs on your left hand and suckers on your fingers.

when adjusted correctly I could not get my hand around the lever, so I slackened it off so it does not go all the way down and operates in the same range as Hans. I have bent the arm slightly outwards too, just not enough to jamb the mechanism.

Hi All
This is fully on with 3 clicks, not able to adjust as there is only one hole to mount the handbrake on (m6 bolt), will have to make it do as it's not getting cut now.

just slacken the adjustment so that there is no friction when on the first notch and fully on at the 5th or 6th. When releasing push button in and lower then release the button and raise again to first notch

If that is fully on with no adjustment left I think you are going to have problems. Mine is exactly like Han's.

Have you not noticed that all S owners have deformed left hands, it is our equivalent of a 'secret' handshake!

Off....

On....

Off....

On....

When it's down it is down, as far as it will go, I am not just leaving it up a few clicks.

Whatever I did (previous post) it did the trick. plenty of room to get my grubby mits around it!
