Ok fellow S- folks, I know it's late and I've been trying to get rid of this Welsh wisgi stuff ( which surprisngly improves the more you drink it confusedbiggrindrunk ), but this is one place you really must make the effort to get to, to sample not just the excellent breakfast served by the delightful waitresses, but the whole ambience of the place. The venue itself is multi-themed, even your loved ones will enjoy the retro designer boutiques and multiple attractions of the place, whilst you are browsing the small but unusual & highly interesting car & bike museum. They've even got spectacular scenery and roads on the way there. driving

The place: The Oil Can Cafe, Hepworth, HD9 1AF
The date: Sun 29th March 2015
The time: 10:00 am: So you can all have an extra hour's lie-in! cloud9

Check it out on Google / TripAdvisor etc and book your place.
You won't regret it, it's truly awesome!

I will definitely be going because my local High Peak TVRCC Region will be meeting there ( earlier than usual ), and hopefully we can get the South Yorks lot interested as well.
Obviously with so many TVRs in attendance, it's important to book your breakfast place with the cafe in advance.
There is a possibility of a bit of a scenic run out as well, so don't miss this one.

It's worth going just to see Chiminaeraes with the roofs off!

In March!!! wink

Let's have a big show of topless S's to show them all what they're missing!

PS. Can somebody sober who knows what they're doing please add this to the events wiikkii?
( Is that a Maouri thing? )

"Waitresses" are you still allowed to use that gender specific word? This isn't the 70's you know? Life was so much easier back then laugh

I heard a human (got to be careful here) on the radio the other week complaining about the use of the word "hero" eg in the context of "Help for Heroes" which the interviewee felt implied all heroes were men. Oh please......... take me back............where are the aliens when you need them? laugh

biggrin
I dont know why Joe, but when I read your gender-specific reply, my poor tortured brain conjured up the horrible image of that bloke in the MoneySupermarket TV advert, in shorts and high heels, twerking his ass off in front of Sharon Osborne. :shudder: *

It must have been that wisgi. Can the aliens take me away from all this as well? Please...

Thanks Han. thumbup

Hi Glen et al
You may have missed the South Yorks Dambusters' Run event, on 22 March. Starts with Breakfast at the Oil Can Cafe at 9.30 am, run round Holmfirth, appropriate dams and reservoirs then back to the Stockyard for lunch.
All are welcome as usual , and I'll check that various ',heads up' to the other ROs have been taken care of.
Cheers.
Tony.

I agree! You can't have too many OCC breakfasts! Don't forget the ' Mechanics Breakfast' has extra grease 😉
