I'm in the hunt for a front screen and found out that a mate had one fitted a little while ago - I didn't know it was heated 'til recently.

One off is £330 and 6 to 8 weeks delivery.

I have asked for prices for 5 and 10 and will post those when I receive them

I might be, price and design (if it's got huge strips all across it I'm not too fussed!) dependant.

What's a "Saleen"? wink

I would be very interested as my screen is kinda grit blasted, not very good for night driving or into low sun, and it's had a chip repair that is not getting any better.

I wonder what the fit would be like, and how much that would cost, also could they do a green top tint option?
Not too bothered about the heated screen because if misted, it clears very quickly with the roof off anyway.
My Leven cover gets all the frost!

scratchchin Electric blanket under the Leven Hood Cover? That would be going soft.... .

The wires within the screen are like those in a Ford Focus - almost invisible. Check out Ricky Evans Motorsport. Or goooogle heatedwindscreens.com

I may be up for this if we can get someone decent to fit and if the screen is a good shape.

Got one a couple of years ago but the fit and finish I horrible.

Hi Mick
Think this was a Pilkington screen, remember this post way back, the screen was way off, Pilkington made some new ones which were a better fit. Just got a new screen myself (Pilkington) was a close fit but not 100 o/o, I had to sand down the bottom corners, top rebate and the side rebates to make it fit, that's ok for me as the car needs painting but for a finished car would be a problem to solve. I hope the deal comes off.

Alan

Glassfiber changes shape, it shrinks and moves over the years, never going to be the same as it left the factory.

Hi Norman,

Please can you tell us why it never came about in 2009, and who was going to manufacture them?

Cheers,
Glen smile

If the price is right I'd be interested too as I have a crack slowly spreading across the top.

Hi All
Are they going to make a new batch or do they have some on stock to do a dry fit.

It was Uroglass Bromsgrove but I've long forgotten the name of the contact. I talked to the Chim/Griff forums as well but not enough interest . Pilkingtons were going to manufacture but they had issues and the whole thing just got shelved mainly because of the lack of commitment from people on here

Good luck Norman

From the comments above.....are the S screens the same as Chimps? Also Ricky does not have stock ones; they are made to order which is why they quoted 6 to 8 weeks.

Had mine replaced few years ago, Pilkington, seems to fit quite well but took them a day to fit it, also think they got it within 2 days. Some place in Bham,it was through my insurance. will try and find them if anyone is interested, are they that hard to get then?
