Was that for discs or drums? If discs a link would be appreciated.

There is no such thing as a business opportunity, when the market is already being served with the unit at a reasonable cost. IF, there were none in the market place, that is a different matter, I don't see that.

Drum brake version...
I agree but the market wasn't being served hence why I have contacted a company to source a provider. If there was already a direct replacement for the shorter S type handbrake cable at a reasonable price I would have purchased one.

Update on the supplier, unfortunately they can't find the handbrake cable in their archive. I'm still perusing the option if I supply the length that they can make a new cable up and then offer it to other customers so I will keep you posted.

I have my old handbrake cable to measure but I wondered if it would be the correct length or will it have stretched? Does anyone know the original length of a new handbrake cable?

Should it have stretched at all I doubt it will be very much (it is a steel cable after all and not under any huge amount of tension) so unless your adjuster was at its limit when you removed it I imagine it will be fine.
Think I have a second hand one somewhere, will measure and we can compare stretching wink

Ok so after straightening out the cable mine measures 261.5cm or 103" in old money. How big is yours?

Tip to tip I've got 264mm, a shade under 104"

The way the adjuster screws up or down the outer cable should give a good amount of adjustment scratchchin

Mine is 104" as well, from a Caterham 7 with the De doin Axle, about £30, has the ends on for drum brakes but still fits the calipers.

Hey guys! rebuilding my s1 I have found that the cable is a shortened Sierra unit ! The guys at Speedy cables made me a new one to pattern. so they now have the correct size if you need one wink

That Caterham item is a better price than the TVR specialists sell them for. Still a fair whack for one though. Handy to know for those of us with rear discs though.

How much is the speedy cables one for drums?

Speedy Cables replied, they only make to order based on sending in your old one. Still it's one option, just not off the shelf.
