Having spent another day removing waxoyl, I thought I'd do some of the maintenance tasks I've been putting off.

So having spent ages trying to figure out how to remove the diff plug, realised I have no idea how to get the oil in or out. Guess I need an 'oil syringe' type device?

Second question is on the TORX bolts that secure the drive-shafts. I have driver market T40 but this definitely doesn't seem the right fit with the bolts - a lot of waggle so I haven't tried to undo yet - anyone confirm if this is the right size?

Second question is.....
Could well be "T40 Torx" (left) but some of mine were "standard" cap heads (centre) but others were "12 point" (right)

Just done what I should have done in the first place and checked the 'bolts' Wiki - That does say T45 so maybe I'm just too small..

No Ray, I think you're a regular guy. It's just that huge airbed that you were trying to stuff into your tent at Barn Farm that made you look small.
( I wish I could post that picture wink )

I think the driveshaft screws are Torx T-45.
You will need a good quality bit, they can be VERY tight.
Conversely, they can sometimes work loose, so it's a good thing to check them periodically.
I refitted mine using threadloc on assembly.

Lots of the aftermarket CV joints come with 12-point bolts too, so there's a chance it does have those fitted.

Thanks for the replies - ordered a 1/2" drive good quality T45 bit, so that hopefully will do the trick..
