For those of you that don't know me I've dealt with a few challenges in recent years; recovering from a bit of a health worry, riding 100 cycle events, etc.

Those that do know me also know what a complete technical numpty I am. My definition of DIY? Don't Involve Yourself!

I am therefore delighted and surprised in equal measure that this evening I managed to conquer another challenge - to change the battery on my S. It went without incident and only took a few minutes. My late mate brought me a socket set when I got my first S in 1997 (partly as a joke about TVRs and partly about my ineptitude) and tonight was the first time I actually got to use it yikes

Obviously this news is nothing to most of you in this forum but to me it's massive. I think I'll quit while I'm ahead and leave the sockets alone for another 18 years wink

Tim, you can now have an extra 10 mins in bed tomorrow, there's no need to rush to get here to help me before the Rumble biggrin

Don't worry Mike, yes I have started it, which is why I am so please with myself - fitted and working!

Don't joke Andy. Not long after getting the car that needed topping up and I couldn't find the bottle... because L.I.am had changed it to a rubber bag!

I would have sponsored you a pint to see that! Well done.

Also I would have sponsored Tim a few more so as to get to drive in the morning !

I believe Tim used a ratchet strap instead of scanners previously.

Have fun today chaps, wish I was there.

See you next time.

Well done Longers thumbup I know a man of your mechanical acumen won't need reminding, but you did fit a new flux capacitor at the same time didn't you? The new battery will completely wreck your trunnions if you haven't. It's the current you see, it will be at odds with the watts and your ohms law will be all over the place.

Longers has informed me that he is about to "Fire up the Laminator"!

Stand back everyone!

I'm not sure whether this means he has built himself a new supercar, but it sounds pretty impressive to me.

Eat your Mars bar Gene Hunt! wink

Thanks Longers,
Received yesterday, nice job, your skill at handling that laminator is pretty impressive.
I have made up a template to accurately mark out the positions of the drawing pin holes for attachment to the stakes, next step is to drill the two 1/32" holes per sign. wink
Then once the stakes have been procured, they can also be marked up accordingly. PPPPP!

If they only knew the work that goes on behind the scenes...... smash
