2.9 Engine tune

Hi folks, just some advise please.

I Plan to get my S3 2.9 engine tweaked over next winter thinking a better cam, improve heads/breathing plus a piggy back ECU & maybe larger injectors but need to research options. The engine has 100k on the clock however has always run very well, no smoke, doesn't burn oil and has always had regular oil changes and not been thrashed so basically I know I have good engine, would you think a engine rebuild before the mods necessary?

I recently had the sump off mine to sort the oil pump and took the main and big end caps off to check out the condition. After 100k there was no sign of wear on the big end shells and the mains had only a slight polish. These are low revving lazy lumps so probably good for another 100k if looked after apart from oil seals which tend to age as well as wear.
