Hi, can anyone tell me the bolt thread that holds the slave cylinder to the bellhousing on a V8 S ?. The Rimmers website seems to suggest M8 ?. Also any ideas on piping the slave, anybody used Goodrich or similar and what length ?.Might as well BLING that area up !

Well after a bit of detective work came up with 2 conflicting bits of info. Rimmers reckon M8 x 1.25 pitch for the LT 77 box , whereas a stainless bolt vendor on flea bay thought 5/16 UNF !.Bearing in mind that i found two different bolts in mine one metric and one UNF maybe the previous owner spread his bet !. Still managed to get a stainless braided hose knocked up locally, and fits nicely too !

I'm guessing these bolts go into the bellhousing, alluminium?

May be awkward to see but one or other thread should look buggered if wrong bolt has been used? Do they both screw in/out of there respective holes freely?

Could be that 5/16unf is original, one has been stripped in the past and someone has run an M8 (coarser thread) tap down the hole or fitted a "Helicoil" to repair it scratchchin

I have a feeling that they're M8. Quite a few bolts on the gearbox are metric, possibly all of them.

Certainly won't be UNF into aluminium

Thanks for that , bit the bullet and went M8 after running a tap down said holes !. Got my new rear bulb holders installed , only to find reverse didnt work !. Centre console out to adjust switch on box . Came to conclusion switch U/S after testing with multi meter .....new one ordered !.More Fun !
