V8S parts list
Discussion
Could really do with an alternative parts list , for the engine parts !. Found my oil light switch was foobarred, the listed TVR switch didnt fit diameter of threaded portion was way too small. After a bit of detective work, and help found the switch was GPS110 for SD1.These cars normally have STC4104 switches fitted , which is basically the standard TVR part.Working on the waterpump next as most suppliers want £160 cos TVR basically.........Trousers Vertically Retracted.Must think we are all cheque book restorers !
The water pump is quite a hard to source item - not the same as land rover - the entire engine front cover and water pump are specific to 2wd applications - although they weren't that much when I looked a few years back.
There are also several variations of the 2wd water pump - you need the one that looks identical to the one you already have - there are various combinations of pulley mount and offset (for MG's and stuff) that may not fit.
I had a similar issue with the oil pressure switch - mine had been bodged in with tons of ptfe tape and was completely the wrong one. Fortunately I don't live that far from Rimmers - they found a blanking plug for where my switch was fitted and I was able to use the proper switch on the proper union (which had been blanked off) on the oil pump.
I had the engine in bits so it was easy just to take the oil pump cover - it is just about accessible down near the oil filter if you have to go that far.
If you do make sure you read up on priming the oil pump.

Hi
I replaced my water pump a few years ago, and funnily enough it was on barkychoc's old car after I bought it off him!
I found that the correct fitment was a Triumph TR8 version which I purchased from rimmer bros.
Have a search on there. I just looked and it looks right to me. About same price as TVR parts too.
Careful with bolts whe fitting. I used a torque wrench set to recommended figure and one sheared on tightening.
Hope that helps
