Has anyone any advice on best company or type of cover for Europe?

Am taking the old girl to SPA next week and in the eventuality that she decides enough is enough, I would like to get home with minimal upset driving

What does everyone else do for cover on these trips scratchchin

Included in my insurance from Classic Line.

I was previously insured with Carole Nash who also include European Breakdown & Recovery, but they don't do track day cover.

Good to her your going.
See you there hopefully.

Hi Simon

Will make a point for sure to see you.

We are on the lunchtime chunnel on the Saturday so will arrive in the afternoon. We are leaving for home on the Monday so will definately have time to meet up.

Have had issues with the air flow meter - or whatever it is called. Had a new ECU and Air flow meter thingy fit but on testing it was down on power. Solution, chip needs re writing so hopefully it will be done and working fine, if it isnt i will have to slum it in the DBS hehe

Bought some new BBS style wheels and tyres as wasnt confident with the original balloon ones, will keep those for best as they are in mint condition.

Re breakdown cover, have done a bit of research and will just buy a stand alone breakdown cover......hopefully it wont be needed.

My son is bringing his 240Z and we are meeting another mate in his Griff so we will be travelling as a trio - will no doubt pick a few others up as well?

Look forward to meeting with you.

Got a quote from the RAC online for my Griffith as we are going to Croatia in it in the summer until I realised I was covered through my RH insurance.

It undoubtedly is different on each policy but I would be inclined to read the small print as with a lot of policies you only get the basic recovery to the nearest garageas oppose to the full monte recovery to your home. Just a thought

RH were very good, taxi to hotel for the night then taxi to airport and flight home (could have had another taxi home from airport but daughter picked me up), car then recovered to destination of my choice, home in this case. smile

One other thing I like about the RH policy is, should the worst happen (and it did), salvage is yours to keep, if you wish, you don't have to buy it back as you do with some policies I believe?
