Damn thing keeps sticking in! There is a small switch for the washer in the end of the column switch, anybody got the slightest idea how to get at it?

How about. Bit of brake cleaner to clean out the build up of rubbish from inside the stalk. Then some silicone spray to keep it clean.

Don't forget to update us on how the issue was resolved.

Heavens knows how Ford got the switch in! The washer is operated by a small press to make micro switch actually situated in the outer and of the wipe/wash stalk. Presumably it is pressed in to the end of the stalk with 'barbs' to hold it in. I can see no way to release it without damage. However with the switch unit off you can see, at the back of the stalk, the two wires from the washer switch. They do through a hole which is just big enough for a WD40 tube! I had to keep flushing WD40 through and working the switch for ages until it sprung returned every time.

The problem if it sticks in is that it heats up the wiring, apparently especially at the terminal block where the switch wires meet the loom, I had to do a repair there.

So I have taken virtually every bit of this car apart....except the wash switch!!!
