Rack pretty easy to fit if you take a brave pill.
Not sure if steering column uj will present a challenge - on the V8S I used the V6 uj which was shorter and a perfect fit.
Provided it fits under the bonnet the pump shouldn't create any major issues.
Anyone wanting to take the plunge I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Hi All
I had to look twice at the price £800 wow it's 1/3 of a car, think that's a bit OTT.
The S needs power steering, would contact Kiley Clinton ( not sure off the spelling dueeee to wine and Fosters). Just think it could be done for less.

They are a TVR part no longer available - they go for that or more on eBay. I paid nowhere near that but it was right place right time.

I replaced mine with the Subaru Impreza power steering rack.

A bit of ingenuity and about £200.00 all in and Bobs the job.

Plus surcharge if you don't have an old one to exchange!

Think "Subaru" is the way to go whistle

I've got to ask why you would need to fit power steering to an S - I don't find the steering heavy; a bit lively and without a lot of feel perhaps but not heavy.
Or does this mean I have a strange set up / alignment compared to most?

If you are not getting steering feel it definitely isn't set up right

If I were to fit p/steering to Samy I would be going down the Corsa B electric route.

I lost a lot of faith in the Corsa electric route after it failed in my Dads Meriva. Vauxhall said many thousands were subject to recall for replacement but as it had been looked at by an independent garage we could in a nutshell get stuffed.

As said when it failed it was almost impossible to turn the wheel. Very very heavy. Don't know which Corsa generation it was based on - 53 reg.
If you have one try turning the steering with the key in accessory position.
Trouble is it only failed randomly it wasn't a hard fault.
Vauxhall said it was a well known fault they had done loads.

If it fails it should fail to no assistance (ie. as heavy as it was before you fitted it), there's a clutch in it that disengages the motor when there's no power.

I am planning to fit a corsa column to mine but it really does need to be done properly with wheel speed input as you only need a bit of assistance at low speed and even then only really with silly tyres on.

I'm in the 'why would you need PAS?' crowd myself. It's a bit heavy when parking, but otherwise fine, and the gearing is spot on for the A-roads. The steering's one of the best things about the S IMO.
