Adjustable car ramps...

Not cheap, but two pairs would lift the car up enough to do some decent work underneath this winter eg checking the chassis etc. Even oil changes would be easier.

My friend Colin purchased the hydraulic ones that are linked by two hoses to one pump; that means the car is lifted equally side to side. These look a bit of a faff if you have to mandraulically raise one side a bit, then the other, then the other...... I don't think they were much more expensive than these. Drop him a note if you want more details joe, his email is in Longer's Eurotour checklist.

Have you been following Mk1 Fannies thread Joe?

bottom of page 6

Big, heavy, bulky things to store, ok for "chassis inspection" but you still can't get the wheels off so no working on the brakes, suspension etc. etc!

At 20cm collapsed could be fun trying to drive onto a pair with an S never mind four at once? Then you'd need a good air wrench or cordless to wind them up?

£550 £600 (forgot postage) would buy a bloody good trolley jack and four axle stands and still leave change.

(can you tell I'm not impressed wink)
