Need a little confirming the identity of this sensor on an S3C, located underneath where the coil would normally sit, I think its a fuel temperature sensor

This is the connector plug that goes into it...

Thanks all

Is that a bit high up for fuel? Could it be inlet air temperature scratchchin

If yours has the cast alluminium fuel rail the fuel temp. sensor is at the back, near the distributor (possibly similar position with steel fuel rail, can't remember and too early to go and too early to go and dig one out) wink

Tell me the colours of the wires attached, and I'll consult the collection of potentially suitable wiring diagrams I'm building up

Your right, it is too high up for fuel - air temp/air density sensor would make sense
given the location

Early! posted at 4:36am eek that's not early, it's the middle of the night

Mentall, the wire colours are Brown/Yellow goes to pin 25 and Brown to pin 46 (common grd

Assuming it is an air temp sensor, does anyone have any idea what resistance it should show I can't seem to find much info on them, I don't believe it's faulty but I'm checking stuff and cleaning connectors etc

Brown/yellow to 25 is Air Temp (ACT) according to the XR4x4 diagram and Probst's EEC-IV Bible for 3L V6 American fords of that era. Probst says 58.75 Kohm at 10 deg C to 1.18 Kohm at 120 deg C, all plus/minus 15%.

... and another "good bit" is being given the keys to an SVR range Rover (yes, the one with the supercharged V8 from the F Type) and told to drive it 320 miles to Wales, over the Black Mountain and back biggrin
