Mine needs replacing , has anyone else done the same thing recently ? If so who is the best supplier, I assume the steel ones are not available so should it be Stainless ( although some are a bit suspect I gather ) or Aluminium .

Any advice much appreciated .

I thought the same and would have preferred the Aly model which looks a lot neater build, but that comes in at around £180 !

Has anyone on here had an ACT unit ?

Your best option is to get Shaun to make you a swirl tank and expansion tank combination. Great workmanship and a completely practical solution to lots of little issues. But you will still have to decide where to put the pressure cap!

I got one... I think they had issues with poor quality brass necks.. New ones should use propper ss necks but don't know for sure. Tim does always give excellent customer service I believe someone one here had a replacement that was ok.

Why do all the available options only feature classic style caps.. I went for a modern ford cap on my header.. Not as shiny but I like it.. Comes in yellow too.. Mine is blue 20psi..

They look really nice. I like the water level tube, very useful.

I bought a new swirlpot from Tim at ACT recently, but not fitted it yet, expect to in the next few weeks along with new ACT hoses and SS pipes. I spoke to Tim at length before ordering and he said that they have had some problems with the brass necked ones as they can get damaged easily but he has moved now to SS necks, as on the unit I bought... So if buying one ask for a SS necked unit.

New swirl pot from Shaun has arrived - top notch craftsmanship. Just need to fit now (planning to do a coolant system flush at the same time, will then take phots. No qualms in recommending to those who need a replacement.

What is the purpose of the swirl-pot?

Are there any pictures/details of a Shaun-pot available for those of us remote from the UK S community?
