We can leave the vacuum advance out of this because this particular dizzy doesn't use one.

So that valve must shut off any air supply to the manifold then? If so, then back to my question about how taking the vacuum off a single inlet can cause an air intake imbalance.

Given that it is a 1700cc, another question is, will the vacuum from 425cc be sufficient?

It may well do but I do not have the technical knowledge to say how (if any) this would affect the cylinder performance.

I guess you could try it and see how she feels... Then you have the option of taking off from all 4 if it's giving enough servo or if it seems to run funny.....?

Not sure.. DamianS3

Sounds like a sensible step-by-step approach.

Not an appropriate place but I have a pump up cooling system pressure tester that I had shipped from the states that has a radiator cap type arrangement that goes on top of the swirl pot - I'm going to be having a garage clearout soon so watch the classifieds. It is a very good quality bit of kit I used it to find a number of small leaks on my V8S after the rebuild.
