In the past I've used cheap plant sprays because you can only use them a couple of times before they clog up and have to be thrown away. I leave the Waxoyl tin in a bowl of very hot water until it thins enough to spray. thumbup
Thanks for the tip Joe - I don't have enough space to swing a cat in my garage, let alone a compressor with spray gun. I used one of those pump up pesticide spray cans. Thinned back the waxoyl a bit, heated up and it went on a treat. That's the rear nearside done, crud wiped, checked for rot and holes and re-treated. Good tip.

Right - my turn. After spending ages with degreaser etc - have finally done both rear quarters. A few stone chips touched up but nothing significant I'm relieved to say - most of the thanks there go to TubbyStu.

OK not as good as the original thin coat, so the red chassis now looks like a more fetching pink, but I think it will do the job and doesn't look too awful.

Brakes all done now - don't think they are binding and now more travel on handbrake lever and brake pedal, so final thing will be a little bleeding.

Overall, a job done feeling - so now onto the fronts!

Oh yes - had to get driver window working (again), stop rattling Gear nob, flush antifreeze etc, but moving along now. Next job on Monday, picking up my new V8 door from a lay-by in the new forest! Happy days

Did you send them off for a refurb or strip and clean yourself? I can recommend the Gunson Eezibleed for when you come to bleed off the brakes. I always this was a bit of a kop-out, but now i'm converted. It just make the job so easy thumbup

Spent three hours this afternoon with my head up my own wheel-arch fighting the old copper pipe and rubber hoses off the driver's side. Beats going to the gym I suppose laugh

Stripped myself Joe, but took my time. My main focus was function over finish to be honest. The brake wind back kit was a decent investment!!

Pete - not too easy to tell from your photo but I think your pusher plate might be on the wrong way around. Have a look at Phillpot's post on here...

Not as wrong as my old ones were though ... opps laugh

Hmmm Yes - I see what you are saying and I wouldn't dare question the TVR "font" to be honest. I'll check them out in the morning. Thanks for the pointer

Joe - does it have a bearing which way round it goes? (I.e the long opening nearer the spring or small hole) Just searched for some pictures of them and they are orientated the same way as mine. Does it make a difference? I don't know. Pete

I don't know. My guess would be that so long as the little pad springs slide on the smooth part of the plate it will be OK. That is just a guess though.
