CX mirror base removal..

Had to get the screwed-in part of the door mirrors out without damaging my new paintwork.! Tried grips and pliers, etc. but wouldn't budge. So.....

the offending screwed in mirror base..



tool made up from 3/4" steel pipe fitting..



made it fit into the mirror base slots..



used some 12mm rod as a lever..



a bit of care and muscle and out it comes..



happy days..


Tool is available if anyone else has this scary job to perform...

Is that your bonnet hinge studding?
