Knowing TVR and Peter Wheeler he probably said it was a 2 litre V8. They may have just forgotten to do the changes...

That would be funny, does anyone know if it was a cross plane crank of a flat plane crank?

Wikipedia doesn't specify but I can see no reason why they would have gone for a "flat plane", that would presumably have also required a matching camshaft? scratchchin

More expense on what must surely have been an expensive, and judging by the number of surviving cars, unsuccessful project anyway?

The rarelity is due to it only being sold on the Italian market

I think the rarity is due to precious few being sold on the Italian market!

Here's an old thread about one of the Italian V8S 2ltr, shame all the links are now dead.

Yeah, is a shame that so few exist. Would be a nice engine to hear and I'm definitely considering making I've for a future project which involves a triumph, AWD and a massive body kit

No one has mentioned it yet but Brabham asked Repco to redesign the Rover V8 (215) for them

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repco

It had a flat plane crank, different heads, 6 bolt heads etc..

I have lots of bits of 4.6 to go in mine next year smile

Bigger is better when it comes to a Rover v8

That sounds like a good engine. I might try and design a flat plain crank for the 3.5/4.2 so I can use standard rods which makes it cheaper

That was kind of where Peter wheeler was thinking when he discussed changes to the RV8 with Al Melling and that ended up with the AJP8.

I think I took copies of all the pictures of Cominoc's V8S - I'll try to dig them out.

Cheers Barky. Would love a AJP8 but there's no way I would remove it from a clean car, would have to be a 100% write off

Everything I have.

I do remember Cominoc saying when he bought his (brand new!!) there was at least one other at the dealer, and I think he said he knew of another one.
