I bought some of the BMW e30 smoked lenses off fleabay for the S3 and on a dark green car they look good. If i was doing it again I would buy the complete unit as splitting the Leyland lenses off the bulb unit was a pain.
The lenses and units are all reasonably priced especially when compared to the Leyland units!

Ah I wasn't sure if the lights were from a mini or not I think I may have some of them deep in the shed and I knew indicators were going to be hard to find but I need them lol worth a try

If you need indicator lenses then BMW E30 is the easiest and cheapest option. But the E30 unit complete will not fit.
The easiest complete unit is the Nissan Terrano unit, it is an almost perfect fit and pretty easy to wire up. They are getting pricy although they do come up on ebay occasionally. Budget c£40 each for complete new units (it was £20 a year ago!). Neil Perry at ML Performance Parts did have some in a while ago, ever helpful and knowledgeable about TVR's. Whatever you get, buy spares!!!!

The original lenses are hens teeth rare and very expensive, and I have only seen one complete unit come up in about 5 years!

The clear ones can be used in conjunction with an orange lightbulb to stay legal. They have black housings just like the amber ones.
If you want your car to look "right" there's only one way to go, everything else is a poor substitute wink

Hi Tony, just for info this is what the Terrano ones look like on an S. Mine are slightly spaced out with additional rubber seals behind the body to bring the lenses forward slightly.

Cheap at that price. I was quoted approximately £95 each from Obsolete Car Parts, now TVR Parts.

They do, very occasionally come up on ebay as new old stock or good 2nd hand, but I suspect most people who have any spares are either holding on to them for their own benefit, or are aware of the value.

If it makes you feel any worse at all, the indicator I broke and removed from my S3 just over a year ago had a price sticker on the back that said £0.92p.

If you want to keep the original look you have to pay the money. Thankfully there are few parts on the S that seem so over priced

I'm with Smokey on this - Yes OK £60! (cheaper than a cheap pair of trainers) But I bought one, as personally I want to keep the cars original look as far as possible, and the indicators are part of its "face". When Norman Farmer ran a batch they were just the lenses (Unlike this, which has the back section also) and if memory serves me well enough, not too far removed from this price as a group price to get a batch made up - and that involved breaking off the old lens from the back unit, which wasn't ideal, but only solution at the time for originality. Personally I don't mind supporting the efforts of these (independent) guys to help ensure we are supplied with the right items for the future especially if they are a way to buy them significantly below the traded prices for the original stuff and if TVR Parts/TVR don't step up and ultimately let down the "S" fraternity. I hope Geert Van also considers reproducing the Citroen CX mirrors at some point too, as they really are ludicruous at the best part of £150-£175 quid each. With a bit of luck, maybe he'll reproduce the lower steering column cowl, the mirror toggle switch, bunny ears, sunbeam rapier filler caps, brake servo's and all the other stuff that appears unobtainium these days. Not everyone is bothered about originality - which given the car is made of other car parts anyway, is fine, but some are - each to his own I guess. Either way, I wont be shrink wrapping my S as an investment for the future either - I just want it to look the way it came from the factory where it can be reasonably achieved. I can certainly vouch for the quality of these units
