Interesting to know more about this one, a 1988 2.8 S1 needing work for effectively £6K. If it achieves anything like that I will need to revise my insurance!

Hi All
A bit optimistic with price me thinks, Looks like he is a scrap / parts dealer. Being a Cat D there must be other things wrong with it, surely it wasn’t scrapped for paint work, if it's a cat D then it must have had a accident and a insurance claim?.

To be fair, the front indicator lenses look ok, so the price is very cheap for an 11 owner S1 that only needs a new roof & rear window, new carpets, a full wheel refurb, the bonnet repairing, the rusty engine bay sorting out, a new air inlet hose, probably a new set of tyres, the flooding issue and dodgy "imboliser" sorting out, and.....and.....and......
It's a bargain!
There has certainly been no expense spared on capital letters or spelling on the listing!
These are very rare cars you know cloud9 ( or should that be :cloudcuckooland:?) However it's not one of the first batch because the speedo & tacho are the later type.

Nice seats. wink

I'm just going to get onto Classic Line and get Austin's agreed value amended to £12k. Or is that figure too low?
Barry, I would advise hanging on to F-THT, it's appreciating at a phenomenal rate, even higher interest than a wonga loan!

What about the nice steering wheel...
It does seem from this that just after I've sold my S3 it's doubled in value...damn frown

Sorry Glen, dont get too excited and run off to buy it, I think that indicator is damaged!
Bet it runs really well with the induction trunking like that.
Judging by the muck under the bonnet and the green on the hood it has been standing outside.....with a damaged rear screen. Anybody fancy a bit of sub aqua driving?

Realistic value as it stands £1800-2500?

£1500 at the very very most.

It'll need £6k spending on it at least and even then it won't be conkers.

The V6 'S' series cars are so cheap they really should be going for that money though surely?? V6 grunt, lovely styling inside & out and a soft top sports car. Compared to cars of the same Ilk such as TVR's rival Marcos the V6 models go more in value than the V8's at around the 23k price range and not even open top driving!
