V8s headgasket and cam options

Hi everyone

I'm looking at replacing the headgaskets and our V8 , can anyone tell me the correct gaskets , I had bought a set (composite type) but the more I read the more I get confused with all the RV8 options!

Also I'm planning on changing the cam and lifters etc to freshen it up . I was looking at Real steel viper I think but does anyone have any other better options I don't really want to change double valve springs or pocketed Pistons .
And another quick one , are the RV8 headbolts reusable ??

Stew Mc is one of the resident V8 experts on here but, unfortunately, I think he's somewhere in Mexico at the moment!


Might be worth asking over on the Chimaera Forum, a lot more V8's been worked on over there .

A lot of people really rate the cams from V8 Developments, either the mc1 or stealth. Not sure how the latter would work on a 3.9/4.0 though. They will also be able to discuss and supply you with the correct head gaskets for your requirements along with knowing about the head bolts. They really know their way round the RV8 and would be my port of call when that job is needing doing.
