I've ordered the one from McGill Motorsport,it is from a uk seller, shows the same pressure range as the item from hose fittings uk, in stock and £10:75 delivered I've got fluctuating oil pressure so I hope it cures it, not worried about an accurate reading just a consistent one. I will update when its fitted for future reference.
I have fitted the oil drain valve it does stick out horizontally, it may be slightly lower than the bottom of the sump 5mm max, I am aware of the risk of grounding and consider carefully if it stays on!
Merry Christmas everyone

The other terminal has the earth symbol on but also 'wk' which apparently is for a warning light so I don't know if you swap terminals if your using it for a warning light? Point is I've got 'g' going to the gauge and it works, not sure how accurate it is but as long as its consistent I'm happy.
Just to add a bit more information (after mis-purchasing a switch). From my searching, there are 3 main types of sender, each with different resistance v. pressure profile. Both smiths senders are non-linear and the Stewart Warner is linear. Here's a comparison graph found on a web crawl.

I've replaced mine (but on S3 & 2.9L) from RaceTech Direct
Original Equipment - Part No. TVR N0009 TVR Oil Pressure Sender V8 Early (with rubber cover) £45.99
I looked at the ebay senders, but it was not clear which resistance profile they were using, so decided to go for the more expensive option after cross checking the sender unit. However, I did like the idea of a warning light output parallelled across the low brake fluid.
All fitted and seems to work fine!

You may find this more economical. Same part, half the price.

select the 240-33 ohm (american standard) 0-100psi option from the dropdown if your gauge reads 100psi. Job done.

I bought one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/181762431983?afsrc=1&r... from China. Gives both signal to the gauge and a switch for the oil warning light TVR never bothered to wire up.
