Hi Ray
which ferries are you using - I'm in Teesside if yoy want to convoy to Hull
We,re booked on the Thursday night ferry out. Having thought about it, maybe zeebrugge out with return from Rotterdam would have been better.

Mick,

I'm on the Sunday night home via Rotterdam.

(My cunning plan is Hull Zeebrugge out and Hull Rotterdam back, as this reduces the transits and means we can have the full day at the event on sunday)

my thoughts exactly
except we've gone for an extra day and coming home Mon/Tue - Rotterdam has the better return sailing times

Hull - Zeebrugge Wed/Thur - so just need to know the route the Calais lot are doing so we can find a suitable place to meet.
Hi Magpies, is that Wednesday night out of Hull, Pride of Bruges? If so you have company!

Anyone sorted any plans for the channel crossing direct to Calais yet..ie the timings?

As far as I recall we have 3 options,

1. Tunnel

2. Ferry

3....or.......in keeping with the the 007 theme...

..I like the look of plan 3, but am willing to go with the other two options at an agreed time... wink

Might lose my passenger or luggage with option 3; I'm going to be booking Le Chunnel this year as little price difference against ferry (about £20) and will cash my TESCO vouchers in (x3 face voucher value).

Likely to go out Weds (25/05) about 16:00 but we're staying a couple of days longer, returning to Blighty on the following Weds (01/06)

How about Option 4 Andy? Another 007 device with a bit of Norfolk thrown in the deep end for good measure?

We may need to don frogman suits, flippers & Scuba gear because we will obviously be roofless.

Seriously,
I was thinking of a ferry a bit earlier than Max's Tunnel time. What is everyone else doing?

...good call, but No Glen...I thought about that as well, but all that salt water on the outriggers!!!! could be as bad as the Aldeburgh run in January...doesn't bear thinking about wink

I believe that you can use Tesco club card vouchers,at 3 times face value on on both the tunnel and DFDS ferries.

As Andy says there is little price differential between the two routes. I prefer the ferry experience rather than the electric mole. If I tunnel I would look at the 16.20 out to arrive for a civilised time for dinner and probably the 18.20 return. The hour difference gives a reasonable time for the journey back to Warwick. It would allow a lunch stop at,say,Ypres. My only worry is the possibility of delays. If I book DFDS, I would consider the 15.15 to Calais and the 16.00 from Dunkirk or 17.00 from Calais for the return. I may go out ferry and return on the tunnel but I do not think that you can use club card for a one way trip. There is a possibility of staying an extra day. If you do not use Tesco coupons you can get 10% discount through the Caravan Club if you are a member. No, I will not tow the Caravan behind J-LLO. First thoughts so it could all change!

Hi Glen, have you considered the Hull-Zeebrugge route, even easier for you?

Hi Richard wavey

I'm afraid there is no time in my schedule for me to take the Hull - Zeebrugge option.
I shall be driving down to Essex on the Tuesday to stop over at my Sister Jo & Bro-in-law Barry's. I will deposit my holiday suitcase there, as we will be flying off from Stanstead a day after returning from our little Eurotour.

It's a hard life! wink

To avoid landing on the M25 on a Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, is anyone interested in extending the trip by a day? Open to suggestions as to what to do on the day, but I can recommend Bruges.

Excellent! If you're happy with Bruges, I'll ask Glen if he still has the hotel details from last year. It's not expensive and they have an arrangement with a taxi firm to shuttle guests in and out of the city.
I'll be quite happy with any other suggestions though.

Anyone else?
