There a compromise- not as pretty as polishes / diamond cut but are useable without so much worry & faff

Did you get it done locally? And how much?
How much extra to painting in the black bits...I think they can make a difference if not too expensive...

AutoAndy - you are on your own with black bits.... about £60 / wheel including tyre removal from one set, refitting, balancing etc

Going to get mine done at some stage during rebuild. Thoughts on what I should have done with these? They're in good condition apart from the surface being very 'pock-marked' and full of embedded brake dust.

Shot blast and powder coat in a similar light grey then find some new centre caps? Any other ideas?

I think they'd look pretty good in a powder chrome, oh & if your after centre caps try https://www.demongraphics.co.uk/index.php?main_pag... set of 4 for £19.99, can design them whichever colour scheme you want in various sizes (there 3d domed also), shall be ordering them myself when i get my wheels done summertime

I'm with the powder chrome suggestion above. Should look good against the dark colour and be relatively low maintenance.

Prestige Wheels in Stockport have a really good reputation. They have completed one set for me this autumn and my eight is with them at the moment having its wheels attended too as well. They seem to do a very bright but not chrome silver which would look great on those wheels. Remember shadow chrome can be lots of differing shades, it all depends on the amount of silver that goes on top of the black powder coat.

As for the oz eight spokes, I agree that they look far better with the black bits painted back on but it's a bh of a job to do masking it up!!!

Edited to add this link to when I did mine.

They have held up really well, with no real sign of wear. Am away from the car but will share a photo of them when I'm home again in a few days if there is any interest.

They will be VERY low maintenance. A wipe with a damp cloth is all that is needed wink

Thanks guys - tend to agree with you all! Prestige wheels in Stockport is really convenient for me so thanks very much for the recommendation. Look forward to seeing the pictures of yours (and TopGears of course)!

I should have been specific with regards to which car is at prestige at the moment. By "eight" I meant the BMW 840 and its throwing stars rather than the V8s getmecoat Its currently enjoying a garage to itself and is up on axle stands having its winter clean and touch up. Didn't manage to do one for the last two years as I only had a tiny single garage. So nice getting her clean and shiny underneath again. Can't believe it's been 4 years since the body off!

Great choice they will look great, although after 4 years mine have some weird black spots showing..

It's a great practical finish, get some wheel wax on them to stop break dust sticking to your new finish.

Just had my tatty OZ's chrome powder coated, was thinking about shadow chrome but opted with a BRIGHT & shiny finish as similar as I could get to the original look without re diamond cutting.
They cost £240 +VAT.
WELL pleased with the result.
