Happy Day!

The cat is now well & truly out of the bag, and I can reveal myself as the international man of mystery. My wife took the news extremely well, and probably won't speak to me for ages. smile

Shaun, you can rest assured that I shall cherish this beautiful S3c for the whole time I am its' custodian. It is a credit to you and I am thrilled to be the new owner.

And obviously it's the best colour! smile

We'll have none of that tomfoolery sirrah! This is a proper toff's car and is worthy of some respect, I'll have you know!

Dignity is key!

Pah!
I'd rather use a 180 grit flapwheel than that cheap stuff.
Only the finest triple ply quilted with aloe vera will do for my passenger's comfort & safety.

Yes Tel, but I didn't need to do the full body-off resto because Shaun had already done it. I am too old to be spending all my time underneath a 26 year old topless beauty. I'd rather be out there giving it a good spanking! driving

Isn't wisdom a wonderful thing.??? I must say, that I would've possibly have taken the route you have in hindsight, but "a fool and his money are easily parted". Looking forward to seeing and hearing this one Glen..
I'm collecting mine on Thursday so there'll be a few more pictures to follow. Just the windscreen to get fitted and a load of fettlling and I'll be back making some S noise...!!! bounce

Nice one Glen. Are you, Barry, Stewart Catley and Steve Tyree undertaking some sort of S world domination through buying up every example of the model?

It looks a great car, I hope you have many happy, sunny miles together.

Thanks everyone! thumbup

I have been on the brink for a while now wink. I even considered a transfer to the Dark Side in a moment of weakness a couple of months ago :shudder:
I thought that this was the best route to take, and when I went to have a good look at Shaun's beautiful S3C, I was well & truly hooked cloud9
To be honest, I want them all, but that's not feasible frown

I had asked Big Ian for first refusal on J444 TVR if he ever came to sell it, but I don't think I could wait that long! I'm not getting any younger! So I went with my gut feeling. It was a BIG feeling! smile
Therefore Ian, please could you remove me from the top of your list of potential new managers? I intend to be staying with the lighter blues for the foreseeable future.

Kie, I like the Claudiorobbo handle, it's better than Spartacus!

I have decided to carry on playing Austin on the team, but now as a full back. Anyway the transfer window has just closed. But I'm very impressed with my new signing, he will be a great asset for the 'King Power team!

Tony, the title of my new star player is still to be decided. *
scratchchin I am open to suggestions from all you Foxy supporters out there....

I think 2016 is going to be a fabtastic season. Bring it on!

  • Maybe "Lester"?

Smart move Glen. All the hard work has been done, so you can concentrate on enjoying your new 'S' rather than crawling around in the cold and wet trying to save a few quid.

Cheap "project cars" are great if you want a the challenge of a project, but it's always cheaper in the long run to let someone else spend the serious time and money involved in getting one of our cars to tip-top condition. I think that applies to any old car really.

Still, I'm sure you'll be fitting a few "modifications" laugh How about a new sat nav with all the latest cement factories in Holland and Luxembourg?

Terence, don't go putting yourself down nono

We need good men like you & Shaun & everyone else who undertakes a complete restoration to give new life to another example of our lovely S Series for the pleasure & enjoyment of future custodians.

Personally, I have neither the time nor facilities to complete such a project, so I am extremely grateful and very privileged to take over this one while Shaun concentrates on his new project, a full restoration of a more NorfolkyNorfolky, less Blackpoolish sports car wink I wish him well.

I am also looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labours Tel. thumbup
