Here are a few pics of my S3c that I bought from Anglia Car Auctions a couple of Saturdays ago. Apart from a couple of little bits, I have to say I'm very happy. It was scary to bid on, but great to drive home.

Welcome to the wonderful world of S ownership!
And it looks like you have started with a very bonny car indeed. Looks lovely in that colour and the detailing under the bonnet looks like someone has really loved that car.
Great bunch of helpful people on this forum.
Hope to see you at one of the events soon?

Thanks Richard, it was a have to have purchase. There was a V8s up for auction on the same day, but that needed a lot doing to it and it made a lot more than I wanted to pay. My only concern with my S3c was that I was blinded by the shininess of it and get carried away. I paid a little over what I had in mind and with 24,000 and service history and mot's to back it up we went for it. The only trouble is, I keep looking for the problem with the car that made someone put it in the auction, but the 90 mile journey home didn't flag up any real problems. So may be I should just enjoy the car.
I would love to meet up with other S owners, to chat and compare cars, i've never owned a car that is so different to the next one of the same vehicle.

nice car Mike, you wont be disappointed...

check out and add yourself to the ownership map at the top of the S forum: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I know Barrie is somewhere in darkest Essex in his white S...plus various events tend to happen with the guys around Anglia.

Also check out the event that S owners are interested in: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

...or if you really want to join a lot of S's, the Euro tour is just announced for May...: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ....the best thing you can ever do in an S! ... wink

Hi Mike and welcome

this is a friendly bunch (generally) with very little trolling - unlike some forums. Although there WILL be p1ss taking and good banter too.

Some very knowledgeable people so do not be afraid of asking questions.

We have the full range from concourse and standard (yours) to modified and rough-n-ready (mine)- we all enjoy driving the S

There are numerous meets from local to tours and model specific (almost) to any TVR

Also see TVR Car Club and Facebook

Very nice looking car, I don't think you will have any problems with that. I would however check the age of the tyres as they do tend to loose a lot of grip when they get past 5 years old. The month and year of manufacture is usually embossed into an oval shape in the sidewall.

Yep, very nice looking car ...................... with the best bonnet - none of the ugly bulges/intakes. Have had various TVR's and in my opinion the S series is the most comfortable to drive. And they are cheap to run. Have fun!

Some more bonnet love coming from me too. Great looking car (the colour of a previous S I owned and the bonnet from my current one). Just need to get the chim/griff alloy roof stays and it'll be spot on wink

Congratulations - looks like a beauty.

As others have said, you have one of the very best cars TVR made and the most lovely fun and supportive communities. There's a lot of knowledge available here (not much from me I hasten to add) and the silliness is compulsory too !

Look forward to seeing you at some meets.

Thanks for the positive responses people. I've put my pin in the map and will check my tyre dates. I certainly look forward to the piss taking, I did join the TVRCC, I'm sure it will be very useful, but I have to say i've found this forum more active and informative, why is this?

Yes, upperthong is not the best place name!
I had a TVR S2 ....................... just like yours. Forest Green, magnolia interior. Reg: G328HWR.
Not the one you have now, by any chance?

mine was repainted in current land rover epsom green, i don't like it, it was previously a dull but suitable brg flat gloss dark green, not sure what forest green looks like. any pics? here is how mine looked before repained by interim owner.

I'll dig some out and post them. Doesn't sound like my old S2 ........... shame. I'd love to know where that is. According to the DVLA site it hasn't been registered since 2009. It's either sat rotting away somewhere or someone is carrying out a rebuild. Was a fantastic car. Went better, and sounded better, than my current S4c. Those bloody catalytic converters!
