Pics of my auction purchase.
Discussion
Hi Mike, welcome to S ownership.
Yours is a lovely looking car - inside and out. Is the colour Ruby Mica Red?
One thing that nearly caught me out fairly recently after a couple of years ownership was the brake servo.
A discussion popped up on the forum about them being prone to corrosion underneath where you cant see it, so I had a furtle and to my horror, even though the top bit that you can see looked top-notch, the underside was shot and ready to let go. When I took it off, it literally fell apart. If it had split while driving, I'd have had no brakes!
Hopefully, yours will be fine, especially as its a relatively low mile car - but for peace of mind I would seriously recommend you have a look just in case.

Well done Mike, and welcome to S Club!
Your bravery at the auction has won you a very special S, I know you won't regret your purchase.
I just wonder how the previous owner could bear to part with it
I love the colour ( even though I have a personal bias towards blue, I do like my wine ) and it looks like a well-looked after example.
Make sure you join in with as many of our events as you possibly can. The social side of S-Clubbing is alone enough to justify the purchase price. They are a really nice bunch of guys 'n' gals on here.
See you around
Enjoy

Thanks for the positive responses people. I've put my pin in the map and will check my tyre dates. I certainly look forward to the piss taking, I did join the TVRCC, I'm sure it will be very useful, but I have to say i've found this forum more active and informative, why is this?
I think showing you support for the TVRCC is important, the forum isn't as busy as you Facebook's or pheads, as these forums are free, but all the shows and car meets are predominantly organised by TVRCC committee members and RO'S giving up their free time without getting paid for it. Well said Mark, that is so true, but by joining the TVRCC, you get special discounts on parts & services, preferential rates on insurance and entry to shows or race meetings etc, as well as the excellent monthly Sprint Magazine.
All these benefits are worth far more than the membership subscription.
Regarding the Club forum, I do find it difficult to use, but that is possibly my ineptitude with all things I.T.
I mostly use my windows phone, and I think the forum isn't really geared up for it. ( I even struggle with some aspects of PH, like the classifieds.)
Whatever, get along to your local regional Club meetings. I don't know whereabouts in Essex you're based, but the Mid Essex bunch are a friendly lot and will give you a warm welcome. And Barry can show you lots of really good shortcuts

IMHO, it is because, that to date anyway, these cars have been bought by enthusiasts who enjoy driving and improving their cars, and sharing their experiences, rather than "investors". As I say, just IMHO.glenrobbo said:

Thanks Glen, it was a good day. As I said in a previous post, your new purchase was gonna be my next port of call if I didn't get lucky on the Saturday, yours is gorgeous and for a good price also. I've made really good friends all over by owning interesting cars. We're a special bunch, us petrol heads. Your bravery at the auction has won you a very special S, I know you won't regret your purchase.

... I shall be checking the servo asap......
It's just a Fiesta item. If you keep a look out on eBay you can still pick one up quite easily EGThe master cylinder and resivoir are obviously wrong on this one but the servo might be right. You need to check the orintation of the m/cyl bolts and the servo take-off.
Or you could by one of these

Mike, if you have any worries about your new purchase, why not pop it up to Mat Smith at Downham Market in Norfiolk?
Apart from being one of the best TVR independents around, Mat owns an S himself which he has stripped and restored,
I wouldn't take my Chimaera anywhere else. 01366 386004 if you want to phone him.

Yes. I think me and Glen both made our recent purchases within 24 hours of each other.
Well Mike, the deal may have been agreed fairly soon after your purchase, but it took me a long time to raid the family piggy banks with a broad-bladed knife, sell one of my daughters and cash in all my shares in the local brewery. But it was worth it!
Perhaps I should call my S3c "Loreal"?
