S Club Heaven 2016

Hi Everyone smile

Following last year's successful format, the plan once again is a full weekend of activities leading up to the main event on Monday.

Longers kindly said last year that this is going above and beyond - 1 event / venue is all that is needed, offering 2 is spoiling people but 3.... well that sets up what should be a terrific weekend!

You are free to pick and choose whatever segments you want to participate in - as long as you remember that the main SCH Gathering on the Monday is the really important one!

The date will be Sunday 1st. & Monday 2nd May 2016, with an optional extended period from Midday Sat 30th April to Midday Tues 3rd May for those who wish to make a proper camping weekend of it. You are of course welcome to book into local hotels if you prefer a bit of pampering.

Hopefully Alan will post up a link to the choices available.

THE PLAN:

The Venue is Stoneleigh Park, Royal Showground, Nr. Kenilworth, CV8 2LZ and SCH 2016 will be part of the National Kit Car Show, the World's largest show of it's kind, with loads to do and see.

Details of this can be found on http://www.nationalkitcarshow.co.uk

The location is pretty much geocentral in our fair land, so it gives the opportunity for most S owners to attend wherever they are located so we are once again expecting the biggest turnout for many years, We were not disappointed last year, but I know we can always do better!

As far as planning is concerned, just like last year we plan to hold the main S Club Event on the Monday, which would give the option of attending Donington Historic on the Sat and Stratford Ffestival of Motoring on the Sunday, whilst maintaining a base at Stoneleigh. It happens to be within striking distance of both events.
Of course you can choose to do either, both or none, on whichever days you like, it's entirely flexible, but you will have to make your own entry arrangements to each event.

Donington Historic:

Details are on this website: www.doningtonhistoric.com

TVRCC have negotiated a special members' deal for the Donington event, check out the Club Forum or look in Sprint magazine for details of the arrangements and the discounted entry rates. Possibly infield parking with the chance of parade laps of this superb circuit driving - TVRCC members only. See, it's worthwhile joining the Club just for this!

Stratford Festival of Motoring:

Stratford entries are open for booking already, so if you wish to attend that, get booking online via their website:
www.stratfordfestivalofmotoring.co.uk

On-site camping at Stoneleigh at a very reasonable price is available, and we hope to have our own section like last year. Facilities at the Show include clean toilets & showers and we are hoping for free entertainment ( as per last year ) on Sunday night with live music, sponsored by Complete Kit Car Magazine I believe.

There may even be a bar!

We would like an idea of numbers interested in camping so that we could secure our own dedicated space, where we could perhaps hold a bit of a BBQ on Sunday before the entertainment. All TBN of course.

I think this Event should be a lot of fun for all, so put it in your diaries as a 'must do'!

Any questions, please ask, but do check out the websites linked to above beforehand. smile

More details will be released as they become available.

And we may be asking for a little assistance nearer the date.

Hope to see you ALL there!

Alan461 & Glenrobbo

P.S. Of course we will welcome any TVR owner or enthusiast who wishes to come along.

Note to AutoAndy: Please could you put this on our events wiki as I do not have the skills that you are blessed with Mr. S Ed Sir typemoanbanghead

Definitly me for camping as per last year's Soiree.

Please allow time in the schedule for rum-tasting and a massive hangover as well as door-stop size bacon and egg refreshments.

Thanks Mike, that would be great. thumbupbiggrin

The Jago Owners Club were glad of our erection last year, but they had to be rudely awakened early on the Monday morning so that we could set up our command & control centre. biggrin

Another matching event shelter would be most welcome if anybody has one. ie Tony for instance?

We will all need some relief from the relentless sunshine! cool There were some brave ladies in our gathering last year who sat there in the heat of the midday sun. Bless them all for their help and support.

What sort of gazebo are you after Glen? Can't make the event myself unfortunately but I can lend you one of those open-sided things that folds up neatly into a bag; Autoandy could take it if he is going?
Let us know

Thanks for the kind offer Jeremy, but will Andy have the space available with a passenger on board?

What size is it erected, and how small when packed in its' bag?

I have an 8 foot square pop up gazebo which can be used. Being local I can bring it to Stoneleigh at the start of the weekend. I may be able to source some others as well. I can transport other stuff as well if people want to drop it off before the event at my house. Let me know if I can help in other ways. I am hoping that my sciatica will have been sorted by then.

Definitely interested (even if we have to park in the naughty corner!). May clash with something else that weekend but if there's a chance of comfort camping i.e. electric hook up, we could be swayed!

Andy, you and Shirl are both more than welcome, being ex-V8S owners gets you a prime spot with electrical hook-up over there by the hedge. You need to book it with the Stoneleigh organisers though. Just tell them Glen said it's ok and they'll charge you double! smile

Glen, well done for taking this on again. Sadly I will not be able to enjoy the results of your efforts because I'll be leading a large group on this... in Tim's Griffith (we didn't think my S would be able to keep up on the autobahns!).

Thankyou for your most gracious offer Sir Anthony! I am pleased to accept bow
A pop-up erection would be most useful for the use of all participants over the weekend.

I wonder if there would also be some excess bunting that could be spared from your 40th birthday celebrations again this year? If it's not too much trouble for your footmen to arrange.
I sincerely hope your sciatica improves very soon, if not sooner. Do you think it may have been exacerbated by too much bunting?

I am under family pressure to be away for the Saturday and Sunday but would be available for the main event on the Monday. Kevin also has a pop up gazebo, identical to mine and so two would be available. I may have to work out logistics, however. The staff are investigating bunting availability. Sciatica is worse, if anything, but not bunting related.
