I think you will too - I have been under 100 dB at most tracks recently, and that's a decatted 5 litre Chim.
Peter is regularly in the mid-90s (and so's his car).

Didn't have much work on so this afternoon I had a look at my passenger side door that's been rattling,,, kin ell if I pulled on the door it would open without much force,,
Adjusted the position of door catch as it had moved,, all good again and no rattles smile
So with that success I took front wheels off to check steering etc, swapped my brake pads around on left hand caliper and it's stopped squealing for now!
Used my mates new garage floor as a flat floor to check ride height,,,not exactly accurate but I'd been experiencing lock up on the front right wheel when testing emergency stops,,
Left front ride height was high so dropped it and ride heights are closer,,, went and did the same brake tests and as hoped the left front wheel now has more weight applied to it and brakes lock more evenly.

I also loosened upper ball joints and added camber,,, my theory is there set at the moment so if I take them in evenly then I should have a similar amount of camber added either side,,
Oh I jacked up the lower wishbones to aid tapping in the upper joints,,, I moved them in a good 1.5 mm on the bolts but it's made little difference to the camber,, about 1/2 degree at best.. My mates got a natty gauge that you just put on the wheel and it gives surprisingly accurate readings but he's gone to Anglesea so ill have to drive it crossed up for now as usual.
hehe
Feeling like I'm getting results I then loosen the screws that holds the glove pouch up and there lies my little Mbe Ecu and a couple of wires,,,, so I used some foam cut and wedged the Ecu so it's nice and secure,,,,

Going to get a cheap lap top for my diagnostics so I can check what's going on with fuelling etc,,
Might have it for Sunday as I'd like to know what my air flow ratios are at WOT

So all in all a good day playing and just looking over everything.
It's nearly Sunday. wink

I've been staring at this, looking forward to fitting it tomorrow. Didn't think I could get the proper one for £38 plus delivery from the normal suppliers, so got this locally instead

Bloody iPad - wrong way round as usual, but you get the gist.....

When I put a new one on mine I drilled a couple more holes to secure it,, I also applied a line of mastic on the meeting face of the splitter before offering it up to my pre drilled and screw test fitted holes in the bodywork.
You'll find Anthony it's tough stuff so get a drill that closely matches your fixing screws or you'll find screwing them in very tight. Add spit as a lubricant,,, oh ear missus!
I did all that and managed to look after it for about 6 months before coming home one evening and straddling the curb and ripping it off,, I now have many small ex fixing holes,, it's been ripped off before!

It will help though so it's worth having.

I put the track up on google maps earlier and showed my son the flowing corners,, the long right hander onto the long straight etc,, having come to Blyton Park with me he instantly got it and had some fear,,, hehe Me too hahahahah!
That was a special moment for me,, seeing my sons instant reaction,,, it's took nearly 30 years but he's getting why I like the challenge at last. smile

That's a jack,,, a fancy Jack but a jack all the same. Having jacked my car up and down a number of times today to do a tweak then up a gain to adjust etc,, if I'm right there very useful things . thumbup

Thanks for the helpful advice as always, Alun. I am looking forward to a happy hour flat on my back under the car this afternoon, swearing at the bd thing that is already on there. I have no doubts about fitting the new one, I fitted the last one and have your helpful hints to guide me, but the existing one is thick steel and is folded back on itself, so hiding the screws that fix it to the car. I will probably have to resort to the Clarkson School Of Engineering toolkit. smash

Here's my new splitter viewed from the other side - very light aluminium, £6.49 from Homebase.

Thanks Apple - upside bloody down as per 'King usual

Assembled it last night.

The value for money is unbelievable! Designed by Automotech in Britain and made in China.

About 1.5cwt of steel for £180+VAT.
