I'm looking to get Zunsport grilles for my CGTS and will definitely be getting the front bumper set. Has anyone gone for the side/intake grilles too? Or have you not bothered?

I'd appreciate any advice, cheers!

I only had mine a week and took a small stone in the centre rad which pissed me off no end so it was grills on the front for me.

Did not bother with the side vents.

Cheers tyrrell. Fronts are a definite, just considering whether to do the sides or not...

Recently had a full set fitted. The side grills were purely because I like the way they look, they don't serve any other purpose other than asthenics.

Thanks Budwesier - why don't they do anything? Is there no real chance of anything getting in the intakes and damaging something?

I have the full set three front and 2 rear, although I haven't fitted the front centre grill yet as I don't have the third radiator.

Go to CaymanOC.com we're a friendly bunch, there's a discount code to get %5 or 10% off direct from zunsport.

I believe if you let them know your on the forum they will even fit them for you there and then if you go to there premises. I know djmc on CaymanOC was sure. Popped in and they offers to trial fit them (without securing screws) if you don't like them they just remove them almost like try before you buy. Apparently there a family run business dead friendly.

Thanks Mark, I'm looking at calling in to have them fitted. It's just the decision on the intakes I need to make!

Here's my post on CaymanOC.com

I have a 987.1 but there are pictures and a whole discussion on them which you might find helpful.

Nice guys but do charge £35 fitting...

As I said side intakes are really just for show. From memory they were an extra £112 but I like them....

Cheers. I'm not so keen on the look of the side grilles personally, so I'd be interested to hear why they have no benefit other than looks...

Might stop the odd leaf from getting in during the autumn....... That's about it.

Aesthetic purposes only IMO.

Fronts are a must though, especially on a GTS.

The front grills hide the radiators for cooling and aircon. The side vents lead to the air filters that are not quite so sensitive to any small stones that may be sucked in. There is nothing delicate to get obliterated by stones in that path and it would be extremely unlikely for any stone of significant size to be sucked into the side vents.

I fitted the rear ones to my 987, not sure if they do the same for the 981 version but they do set the rear off nicely.

There are no spaces in the rear diffuser for grilles on the GTS, so the only options are front bumper and side intakes...

Off topic, but I'm still bemused as to why the GTS has a 3rd grille, for such tiny output increases over the S? Either it is massive overkill/cozracecarmarketingBS, or, the S cooling system is so much on the edge, most of them are on the verge of seizing up, whenever the temperature goes above 18 degC ambient?

my BGTS takes ages to warm up (compared to 981 2.7), so the extra cooling is really effective

I fitted the full set of Zunsport grilles this evening. middle one took 5 mins. side ones took longer, couldn't make them fit, but then when one side fitted, the other just flew in (knew the technique).
looks good but no pics currently

I had the fronts fitted after Zunsport lifted the front up and I could see the dozens of stone hits on my rads. Peter the MD said he'd just had an order from a customer who'd spent £1000 having a new rad fitted after being split by a stone.

Mine...

As for the side ones... a week after I bought my 981 I had a loud annoying ticking from the r/h side intake. Took it to the OPC and the removed a leaf which was being hit by the fan. I bought a long claw thingy off Amazon after they told me that's what they use.

But as I was having front and rears fitted I though I'd see what the sides looked like... and liked them. So I had them...

Hi Dave (djmc) image finding you on here. Strange but my rads were only 12 months old when I bought my 987.1 used and they looked very similar to yours, loads of little impact marks on them.
