So is that the 5.0 500? What do you want from it? More power or noise, better handling?

Don't know what a gun filter is but I doubt that, an exhaust and remap would get that kind of gains from a N/A engine.

Personally, I'd go to an exhaust fabricators and get a bespoke one made for around £500 if you wanted a new exhaust and maybe search for some free flowing K&N filters or similar. I wouldn't bother with the remap.

Depending on where you are in the UK if you have an exhaust fabricators near you, then get them to take out the secondary cats then add K&N Panel filters this will give you all the noise & a few more BHP as well. Plus that'll cost you around £6-900.00 including the map which will give you a more responsive throttle pedal & a smooth power curve, with those mods I'd expect to see around 20bhp.

My goodness!!!111!!1 That is great!!!!!11!!!!!eleventy-eleven!!!111!!!1 wink

The Mercedes V8 does sound pretty sweet with a decent exhaust, the standard one makes it far too quiet. Make sure you get a dyno done before and after (preferably at someone else's workshop) to see how much power you get before and after, I'd be interested to see if they really can free up 42bhp on the 500, but it's such an understressed engine in standard tune I should think it's possible.

5.0 or 5.5 ?

I have the 5.5, it is quiet but its the first car I have had where I have thought its probably fast enough for me, more is always better but I am still amazed how quick it feels, way more acceleration than the 350Z I had before.

ZX10 has some Batst crazy mercs with 600 or bhp is it ? but for now this doesnt feel lacking to me, some more noise might be nice but I am quite liking stealth after the shouty nature of the 350Z (Cobra exhaust system) which announced your intentions in a not very subtle manner, this just scoots off, not silently but not a great deal of racket, probably what a Lower End Tesla model S feels like.

Don't get drawn in by their claims on their website. They're often very unrealistic, particularly with their NA engine remaps.

It's been said above, but having spoken to a lot of AMG owners, CKS sound like cowboys. Definitely wouldn't take mine there.

If you want exhaust work done in and around Bristol, then Infinity Exhausts in Yate is where to go.

Hi Jacko the 696bhp SL55 is now sold frown

Jacko you should really think about the Xpipe it's still near silent when cruising around but then when you start pressing on it releases the V8 exhaust note

So I have the (finally back from the dyno after three weeks with a fuel fault) 579bhp E500 & of course the smooth as silk 566bhp CLK63, the biggest increase in BHP on the N/A Mercs is in the Manifold with anything from 25-45bhp being released along with a map.

OP here's a link to the K&N Air Filters you'll have them fitted in 10 minutes.

I'm not sure about who's good at remapping in Bristol, I have sent Celtic Tuning out to people who are further out so far their maps & customer service are very good.

Give them a call to see if they cover Bristol.
