Lights problem
Discussion
Ah the joy of new Tvr ownership, I have been checking over the car and the right hand side headlights seem to have very low power, I have changed the bulbs and they work fine on the left hand side of the car but very week on the right hand side. The left hand front fog lamp works but the right doesn't . I shall be checking that bulb tomorrow. Any thoughts as to why the power is low to only one side of the lights?

Bulbs tend to work or not, they don't generally fade with age?Bigpagey1 said:

Yep, somewhere near the bonnet hinges, on both sides, you will find the wiring to all the front lights and a lot of connectors. there's a very good chance these will be in very poor condition, tarnished, corroded and generally cruddy!High resistance = low voltage = dim light
Phipot is of course correct here.. Check the power feeds but don't forget to check earths too if the earth is bad it doesn't matter if you have 14v at the lights.. Also earths are typically easier to fix / replace..
Good luck I replaced my connectors with new waterproof mate n lock 9 way items.. Renewed earths and made new light looms up.. Now works as should.. Also I have LED headlights and these are more voltage tollerant and up there with any modern light in terms of output.
