Bonnet Striker Pin Assembly
Discussion
Has anyone come across a good source for these. I have one, but I should have 2!
Not exactly sure where the other one has gone, but I find myself short of the striker pin itself, the spring and cup assembly etc. In other words everything that bolts onto the bracket in the bonnet.
A bit of a pain!

Hi Deeman,
Yes, I've seen that reference to Mini's but I'm not convinced that the elders are right, the mini bits look short maybe and there isn't the threaded adjuster at the top (and are 3/8" UNF rather than M10)
Just looking around I think this part from Burton Power could be the right part

I wonder if anyone has tried it?

Thanks Phillpot! That would be great, if you come across your old one let me know.
I have had a good search around in the garage today looking for mine, and no luck.
One way or another that bonnet will be sitting right and opening/shutting as it should.
I might order the Capri one from Burton in any event just to see if it is the right part, certainly could be correct and if it is it would be useful to know and help others in the future.

If the threaded shaft is too long you could, if you're not careful, wind it up into the underside of the bonnet and damage it. I nearly found this out the hard way.
If your bonnet isn't staying shut it may not be because the pin is too short. I thought this was why mine kept popping open but in the end it was nothing to do with the pin, but rather the catch. See this thread...

I'd suggest either of the Mini or the Burton ones will fit and do the job.

Afraid it's not looking good, definitely had a pair coz I sent one to someone else quite recently, checked with him it was only one but buggered if I can find the other at the moment? It's gotta be somewhere
Fingers crossed a nice new one from Burton's will do the job
Hi V8S4ME is that the mini one you are measuring or one of the car? In any event 70mm ia about the right length. The Capri one from Burton hasn't turned up yet but when it does I'm hoping it's the same size!
Pgilpit thanks for looking! I had a good cleR out and tidy up in my garage convinced it was somewhere but no look either. At least the garage is looking a bit tidier
