I couldn't find the thread where RayTVR said he would bring a soldering iron on the S Club Eurotour, but I just bought this from Aldi:



It works a treat, and doesn't even require a generator set, just a canister of butane lighter gas for refilling. Not bad for £14.99. Phillpot,you can now leave the generator at home. Unless the next Eurotour is a night mission, in which case it can be used to power the arc lights

Got one of those in the boot of OldRed, quite effective they are and not a bad price.

And if you unscrew/remove the tip and nose, they can be used as a mini blowlamp. Great for shrink down sleeving if you're careful.
