I'd get a second top wishbone made from the one you have.
The V8 top wishbones are not complicated - they don't even have the curved part that the V6 has - they are just straight.
Any decent fabricator would be able to make a mirror of your existing one.

Anti roll bar is certainly a different diameter on the V8 (thinner 22mm IIRC).
No idea if the difference is just taken up with different bushes.

It would make sense to have matching anti roll bar points on the wishbones - but there may not be enough leverage without moving them out.

The steering rack body and chassis mounts are identical. The difference I believe is in the inner balljoints - they have a 20mm extension over the V6 S.
After I converted my old V8S to power steering the manual rack was removed. I sold it with the car to Gizzardio.
I don't know if he would part with it but it could be worth a try.

We could indeed make a new one, but naturally I wanted to try and find an original. The costs to set it all up would far outweigh what we could buy one for too, even with the extortion going around on eBay

From another thread there appears to be a business of some sort or other still being run from Austec premises, any chance it could still be lying around there somewhere?

I had a good hunt around when I picked it all up. There's a chance it was rotten through and nobody did anything about it, I guess.
