What modifications do you need to make to the MX5 runners to fit the Mazda seats into the 'S'?

None, but they sit high and you need to drill new holes in the floor.

Altering the seat base can be easily done. Chop off the mounts and weld on new ones.

Alternatively, chop off the runners and fix a new one. Bit unnecessary though.

Depends on your body shape if you need to lower the base.

Alternatively, some of the seat foam can be removed.

It depends how big you are.. Mine bolted straight in, needing new holes at one end but others lined right up. My runners had locating pegs that fitted through the unused holes somewhat unbelievable I know. The seats sit higher and I had leg to steering wheel issues, track road modified the mounts on the driver seat runners so it sits lower.

I have mk3 seats btw but believe the runners are the same across the early cars.

Great seats IMHO.
